The City of Monterrey will host the “XLIV World Congress of Poets,” to be held from September 21st to 25th of this year. This event is organized annually by the “World Congress of Poets” (WCP), an association founded in 1969 with the aim of helping to achieve the desire for peace and fraternity through poetry. Since then, under the auspices of its sister association, the World Academy of Arts and Culture, it has held 43 congresses in different parts of the world, defending the values of understanding, respect, freedom of belief, love, and equality of all races.

During the congress held in Italy in 2023, the local committee, chaired by Mtra. María del Pilar Martínez Nandin nominated Monterrey as the venue for the 2025 Congress, with the support of the Nuevo León Tourism Secretariat and the Monterrey Convention and Visitors Bureau, resulting in the city being selected as the winner.
